EC Launches 'High Level Group' on Hydrogen.(European Commission)(Brief Article)

The European Commission (EC) recently launched a new "high level group" in Brussels, Belgium, that includes "top level representatives form major [European Union (EU)] automotive and energy companies, public utilities, research institutes, [transportation] companies and policy makers." EC said the group will examine the "potential benefits" of using hydrogen and fuel cells (FCs) in mobile, stationary and portable applications to "help pave the way for more focused EU action."
Commission officials said the group is expected to release a "foresight report" next year that will include a hydrogen and FC research agenda, as well as information on deployment and commercialization efforts.
