Diaphorm Receives Army Research Lab Contract.(division of Solectria Corp. receives contract from Army Research Laboratory)(Brief Article)

The Diaphorm division of Solectria Corporation recently announced it has been awarded a five-year, $3-million cooperative agreement contract by the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL). Diaphorm said the agreement will help investigate the use of its proprietary composite-preforming technology in developing lightweight, low-cost, reliable and environmentally friendly materials for a variety of military vehicle applications.
According to Diaphorm, the ARL program will provide for the proof-of-concept of prototype systems, property testing of composite laminates made using the Diaphorm technology, the incorporation of these parts into a demonstration military component and the investigation of production-scale feasibility.
