Kimberly Clark Mexico To Make Medical Supplies.

MEXICO CITY, Mar 15, 2001

Kimberly Clark Mexico, the country's leading maker of paper and personal-care products, plans shortly to begin producing disposable paper products specifically for use in Mexican hospitals and clinics, according to a report in Mexican financial daily El Economista. The company has available production facilities required to make such products and views the move as a means of placing new competitive pressure on rivals Colgate Palmolive and Mead Johnson, El Economista business columnist Marilena Vega reported. Kimberly Clark reportedly this year expects a slight reduction in annual sales growth, to 3 percent, from 5 percent last year. Total sales last year were around 16 billion pesos, Vega reported.
