IBM To Launch Netinfinity Full-Scale Production In Mexico.

MEXICO CITY, May 24, 2001

Computer maker IBM's Mexican subsidiary is testing production of the company's new Netinfinity servers at its plant in Guadalajara, in the western state of Jalisco, and full-scale production will begin in July according to a report in Mexico City daily Reforma. "The launch of production volumes is beginning June, with full-scale production starting July," IBM Mexico head of Manufacturing and Technology Alfonso Alva said. The plant will be running four Netinfinity production lines by the end of the current year, and a total of nine by the end of 2002, Alva said. He said precise production volumes for the new servers had not yet been determined.
