Pemex To Produce More Offshore Crude.

With the drilling of 24 wells during the period of 2001 to 2006, Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) will attempt to increase offshore production through the exploitation of reserves on the Campeche and Tabasco coasts, reported Mexico City daily el Economista. The actions for part of the Light Marine Crude Project that Pemex subsidiary Pemex Exploracion y Produccion is developing, include plans for six production fields located 75 kilometers northeast of the Dos Bocas, Tabasco terminal. The project will be part of the portfolio of strategic programs aimed at increasing crude production in order to meet internal and external demands, said Pemex.
