Mexican broadcast-television networks Televisa, which is owned by media giant Grupo Televisa (NYSE:TV, BMV:TLEVISA), and TV Azteca (NYSE:TZA, BMV:TVAZTCA), remain in rival talks with DirecTV for rights to broadcast in Mexico World Cup soccer games to be played next year, according to a report Monday in Mexico City daily Reforma. DirecTV is unlikely to strike a final agreement with either Mexican company before the end of the current year, meaning the Dec. 1 tournament draw, to be staged in Seoul, South Korea, on Dec. 1, appears set to be transmitted in Mexico only by DirecTV, Reforma business columnist Alberto Aguilar reported.
