MEXICO CITY, Jan 29, 2002

Spain's Grupo Prisa and Mexico's Televisa (BMV:TLEVISA, NYSE:TV) want to acquire 49 percent of radio broadcaster Infored, although until now they have been unable to reach a deal, reported Mexico City daily Reforma. In the first meeting of Sistema Radiopolis' board of directors, the possible acquisition of news show Monitor, with popular journalist Jose Gutierrez Vivo, was discussed, although the issue is very "tangled" in the contractual details of Gutierrez and Francisco Aguirre, chairman of Grupo Acir. As a result, Prisa said it prefers for the moment to pursue other possible business opportunities. Radiopolis, formerly Televisa's radio subsidiary, is now owned by Televisa and Grupo Prisa.
