Cadbury Schweppes picks up Squirt brand.

MEXICO CITY, Feb 25, 2002 (M?xico Analytica/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- Britain's Cadbury Schweppes will buy the Squirt brand in Mexico from Refremex. The cost of the transaction was not revealed. Established in 1938, Squirt is the Mexico's eighth soft-drink brand, with sales of US$23 million in 2001. Cadbury Schweppes has operated in Mexico since 1992, when it acquired Manantiales Pe?afiel. The acquisition of Squirt has not yet been approved by authorities; approval is expected to come through this week.
