WTO: Mexico is seventh exporter in world.

Despite the fact that its export levels fell 5% worldwide, Mexico advanced to become the seventh exporting power globally, following the European Union, United States, Japan, China, Canada and Hong Kong, reported the World Trade Organization (WTO). After last year's slump, world trade is expected to rebound 1% in 2002, the WTO reported. For the second consecutive year, the growth of trade will be lower than growth in production. According to the report, Mexico exported US$158.5 billion dollars-worth of merchandise to the world, and imported US$176.2 billion. The export level fell 5% and imports fell 4%, according to the WTO.
