English businessmen may invest US$5bn in electricity sector.

If the electricity sector is opened up English businessmen are willing to invest US$5 billion per year in Mexico. The announcement was addressed directly to Minister of Economy Luis Ernesto Derbez in an interview held in London with executives from the main English electricity companies in the energy sector. "Companies are waiting only for Congress to make the necessary changes," said the official.Manuel L?pez Blanco, European Union ambassador to Mexico, said that European investors are very interested in other strategic sectors such petrochemicals and telecommunications.
