Grupo Continental reports 7.2% jump in sales.

Grupo Continental reported a 7.2% increase in non-alcoholic beverage sales during 2001, said the company's vice president of planning and finances, Miguel Angel Rabago. In an interview, Rabago added that the company expects to beat that figure this year in the sale of soft drinks such as Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Fresca, Ciel mineral water and others. Grupo Continental produces, distributes and sells beverages through its 17 bottling plants and 73 branches in Mexico. The firm's market share increased 0.6% from 2000 to 2001 to 27.5%.
