TV Azteca says it cannot be sanctioned for use of use of CNI Canal 40 concession.

MEXICO CITY, Jan 3, 2003 (Cronica/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- TV Azteca has confirmed that it cannot be fined for the use of its concession of CNI Canal 40, through which it is currently broadcasting its signal."The owner of the concession signed and shared his concession right with TV Azteca in the contracts signed in 1998," said Tristan Canales, director general of Corporate Communication of Grupo Salinas. He said that two contracts were signed between the companies in 1998. One established that TV Azteca would sell, program and produce Canal 40 and the other referred to the option on up to 51% of the corporate capital of the company.
