Lewis Energy Group to operate Olmos gas bloc.

MEXICO CITY, Jan 16, 2004 (El Economista/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) has awarded the contract for the Olmos gas bloc under the Multiple Service Contracts (CSM) in the Burgos Basin, to Lewis Energy Group, the Texan company that made the winning bid of US$343 million.
Rod Lewis, legal representative of Lewis Energy Group, said the company's objective in Mexico is to speed up the exploitation of natural gas, adding that the company hopes to discover new oil fields through the use of new technology. Projects in the Burgos Basin are also expected to advance at a faster rate.
