Congress approves electronic billing.

MEXICO CITY, Apr 26, 2004 (El Universal/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- The electronic billing system has been approved by Congress, allowing energies to now be focused on how companies can incorporate the new system into their business practices, and thus decrease costs, reported Lourdes Sanchez de la Vega, general director of the Mexican Association for Electronci Commerce (Amece).
The official stated that the current billing system costs 120 pesos (US$10.60) per transaction, a figure that could be reduced by up to 80%. Another advantage to using electronic billing is that it will allow companies to record tax information digitally. The rules for the new system are expected to be made public soon.
