Ferguson, Bernanke receive nominations

Roger W. Ferguson, Jr. has been nominated by President George W. Bush to a new term as Federal Reserve Board vice chairman and Ben S. Bernanke has been nominated to a full term on the Federal Reserve Board. Ferguson began his service at the Fed in 1997. Bernanke took office on the Federal Reserve Board in August 2002 to fill an unexpired term ending Jan. 31, 2004.

The Federal Reserve Board has appointed Winthrop P. Hambley as assistant to the board and head of the Congressional Liaison Office. Hambley has been serving as deputy congressional liaison and will be succeeding Donald J. Winn, who died in August after an extended illness.
