FDIC Web site adds enhancements to failed bank data

Failed bank data has been enhanced on the FDIC Web site. The FDIC said it has added balance sheet summaries on all failed banks that have been placed in FDIC receivership since October 2000. These summaries will be updated quarterly.

"This move allows claimants against failed banks to monitor the financial status of the receivership and estimate their potential recoveries," said Mitchell Glassman, director of the FDIC Division of Resolutions and Receiverships. "We are providing our stakeholders with this information as part of our continuing commitment to be transparent in the way we do business."
