Team Seeks Faster Portable Route.(DuPont and Mechanical Technology Inc. to co-develop methanol micro fuel cells for portable electronics)(Brief Article)

Mechanical Technology, Inc. and Dupont (Chestnut Run Plaza, Bldg. 702, Wilmington, DE 19880-0702; Tel: 302/999-6738) have signed definitive agreements forming a strategic partnership to accelerate the development and commercialization of direct methanol micro fuel cells for portable electronics.

Terms of the partnership include an agreement to develop selected fuel cell components based on DuPont Nafion membrane technology. The components would be customized for Mechanical Technology's micro fuel cells, being developed for portable electronic applications including cellular telephones, personal digital assistants, and portable computers.
