This summer, Modine Manufacturing Co. (1500 DeKoven Ave., Racine, WI 53403; Tel: 262/636-1200) began supplying heat transfer and water management components to Ballard. These will be incorporated into its fuel cell engines being built for DaimlerChrysler and Ford Motor Co. DaimlerChrysler and Ford Motor Co. will use the fuel cell engines in their Mercedes A-Class and Ford Focus vehicles, respectively. The vehicles will be introduced, in limited customer fleets, in Europe, Japan, Singapore and the U.S. to gain actual road miles under normal driving conditions.
