CellTech Power, Inc. (131 Flanders Rd., Westborough, MA 01581; Tel: 508-898-2223, Fax: 508-898-2690) has been selected to apply its advanced fuel cell technology towards waste to energy conversion. Under the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Mobile Integrated Sustainable Energy Recovery (MISER) program, a fuel cell generator will be demonstrated to convert plastic packaging waste generated during military field operations into electricity. The long-term goal of the MISER program is to significantly reduce the amount of costly fuel shipped to the battlefield and reduce the amount of plastic waste generated in the field.
