Kyocera, Osaka Achieve 44%.(Osaka Gas Company Ltd.; electric cogeneration)

Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. and Kyocera Corp. (6, Takeda Tobadono-cho, Fushimi-ku, Kyoto, Japan 612-8501; Tel: 075-604-3416) have achieved an AC output power generation efficiency of 44%, according to operational assessments conducted by Osaka Gas. Based on this result, the two companies will launch a major joint development project, which will encompass operational tests to be carried out at actual households starting in 2005. The companies aim to be the first to introduce to the Japanese market the 1kW class SOFC cogeneration systems for household applications.
