TRANSPORTATION: Honda Leases First Private Family FCV.(fuel cell vehicle)(Brief Article)

American Honda Motor Co. (John Mendel, SVP Automotive Operations, 1919 Torrance Bld., Torrance, CA 90501-2746; Tel: 310/783-2000, Fax: 310/783-2110) has leased an FCX fuel cell car to a family in Redondo Beach, CA. The lease began in 2005 and runs for two years. The FCX is unique in that the manufacturer has certified it for regular daily use. The family who leased the vehicle will use it for commuting, shopping, school trips and errands.
The car is the first of several that will be let to private customers over the next year. The company has 13 FCXs in the field in California, New York and Nevada as of mid-2005.
