Toyota Fuel Cell SUV Certified in Japan.(Sport Utility Vehicle )(Brief Article)

A fuel cell-powered SUV from Toyota Motor Co. (Katsuaki Watanabe, President, 1 Toyota-Cho, Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture 471-8571, Japan; Tel: 0565 28 2121; www.toyota.co.jp) has become the first such vehicle in Japan to be certified for use on public roads in Japan. The type approval was given for the Toyota fuel cell hybrid vehicle, the Kluger V, which is said to have a more reliable and more durable fuel cell system than Toyota previously produced.
The Kluger V (called the Highlander in North America) is a five- seater that weighs 4,180 lb, has a range of 220 miles and a top speed of around 97 mph.
