PEM DuPont Improves Its Membrane.

DuPont (DuPont Fuel Cells, Chestnut Run Plaza, 4417 Lancaster Pike, PO Box 80705, Wilmington, DE 19805; Richard D. Okine, Technology Director; www.fuelcells.dupont.com) has made significant improvements to its fuel cell membranes, which now have increased durability and performance.

DuPont's fourth generation direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) membrane shows improved chemical stability that extends its lifetime by seven times, while other physical and chemical properties of the membrane and dispersion remain constant. The new membrane significantly improves the development of PEM fuel cells for major applications from automotive to portables.
