PROJECT OVERVIEW: The local SHELL PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT CO. (SPDC) recently awarded a construction contract for a planned gas gathering and processing project to France-based BOUYGUES OFFSHORE, a subsidiary of BOUYGUES CORP. According to the terms of the award, BOUYGUES will be responsible for gathering and subsequently processing associated gas coming from 5 SPDC flow stations located in the Niger Delta zone. The project will involve building gas compression and processing facilities. The cost to complete the planned Odidi associated gas gathering scheme has been pegged at $160,000,000.
