PROJECT OVERVIEW
The local state-owned JORDAN PETROLEUM REFINERY CO. (JPRC) recently retained the services of U.S.-based MW KELLOGG CO. to complete a feasibility study regarding the possible expansion of its refinery. According to the results of the study, the cost to complete the proposed upgrade project has been pegged at $500,000,000. The refurbishment works in question are reportedly aimed at enabling the fulfilment of domestic needs until the year 2010.
As things currently stand, the MINISTRY OF ENERGY & MINERAL RESOURCES and JPRC are said to be studying the feasibility study report as well as potentially modifying the terms of the petroleum company's concession. JPRC presently holds a monopoly right on the supply of all local fuel excluding...
