PROJECT OVERVIEW:
A Pakistani/Omani joint venture was recently established in view of looking into the feasibility of building a new urea plant in Oman. The partners in the would-be project include Pakistan-based ENGRO CHEMICAL PAKISTAN LTD. and OMAN OIL CO. (OOC) of Oman.
As things currently stand, the partners have signed a memorandum of understanding in view of completing a project feasibility study. Construction plans under consideration would reportedly involve building a fertilizer plant with an installed production capacity of 850,000 metric tons per year of urea.
In so doing, the joint venture partners have proposed to fast track the project and are targeting to complete the detailed technical and economic studies before the middle...
