PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The government of Oman recently revived construction plans for a long-stalled $2,500,000,000 aluminum plant as a result of the completion of a new project feasibility study. The project in question has been delayed for the past 5 years because of fluctuating market prices. In addition, there was a question over its feasibility because there are 2 other aluminum producers in the region that are located in Dubai, UAE, and Bahrain. In any case, the governments of Oman and Abu Dhabi are said to be determined to build the plant and make a success of it.

As things currently stand, the potential partners which include the local OMAN OIL CO. (OCC) and the ABU DHABI WATER & ELECTRICITY AUTHORITY (ADWEA) are studying the report results....
