PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local MINISTRY OF WATER & IRRIGATION recently awarded a wastewater treatment plant construction contract to an international joint venture operating under the name of SAMRA WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT CO. (SPC). The partners in the planned undertaking and their respective shareholdings include US-based MORGANTI (50%) and ONDEO DEGREMONT (30%) in conjunction with France-based SUEZ ENVIRONMENT (20%).

Construction plans call for expanding the treatment capacity of the Al-Samra plant from the current 68,000 cubic meters per day (cm/d) up to 268,000 cm/d.
