60 Years and Still Going Strong

On Feb. 16, 1946, the American Society for Quality Control (ASQC) was founded by 253 members of 17 separate quality related societies. This year, the Society, now known as ASQ, is marking its 60th anniversary. A special website is devoted to the celebration.1

Who were these pioneers of quality with the vision to come together and create the Society that has endured this long? How has the quality profession and ASQ itself changed during this timeframe?
