MEMPHIS, Tenn., April 5 (AScribe Newswire) -- Christian Brothers University psychology professor Dr. Tracie Burke's Psychology of Learning class is going to the dogs. Not only that, the 25 students in that class are helping take it there.

One of Burke's assignments in her class this spring includes students working with the Memphis Humane Society and helping the canines living there learn how to be better friends to men and women and become more "adoptable" for families in general.

The course covers theory, research and applications of behavioristic learning and focuses on classical and operant conditioning. Since behaviorism is such an applied field, Burke wanted to include a service-learning component...
