Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedATP OIL & GAS PLANS DEVELOPMENT OF GOMEZ PROJECT IN DEEPWATER GULF
Hart's Petroleum Finance Week, September, 2003
ATP Oil & Gas Corp. (Nasdaq: ATPG) is currently evaluating Mississippi Canyon Block 711, which includes a deepwater oil and gas discovery named "Gomez," that it acquired from Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: APC) earlier this year. It is projected that Gomez will use a similar development plan to the one that ATP used for its Ladybug deepwater project at Garden Banks Block 409.
The initial discovery well was drilled in 1997 by Union Pacific Resources, which was subsequently acquired by Anadarko. In 2000, the discovery was confirmed by two other wells. ATP acquired 99 percent of the working interest for an undisclosed price and is the operator.
