Simplicity has overcome tradition with Tyco Fire Products' new deluge valve. With only one working part, the Model DV-5 is a benchmark for valve design, and signifies a new means of increasing performance while decreasing routine maintenance.

Typically, deluge valves consist of multiple moving parts that can create maintenance and performance concerns. These chambers, springs and plugs can accumulate rust and develop a tendency to stick. Also, frequent manual inspections are required, forcing the entire sprinkler system to be shut down, making the maintenance of these valves both complex and difficult.
