ABENGOA TO SUPPLY KROGER RETAIL FUEL LOCATIONS WITH E85

Supermarket chain Kroger will put E85 pumps at 18 stations at stores in Texas, where more than 250,000 E85 vehicles are said to be on the road.

Abengoa Bioenergy will be the principal supplier of E85 to Kroger retail outlets in Dallas and Houston.

General Motors also said it will promote the availability of the fuel in Texas, along with Kroger and Abengoa. GM's FlexFuel vehicles can run on any combination of E85 and gasoline. The automaker has partnerships with other ethanol distributors in other U.S. cities.

Kroger has more than 500 fuel stations at its stores nationwide, including more than 60 in Texas. The company also operates more than 700 convenience store fuel sites.
