Macrovision has announced its collaboration with a number of music labels, to allow them to add digital audio files to standard CDs.

The addition of exclusive content is being explored by a number of companies keen to expand the potential of 'traditional' CDs. The new format will include Windows Media Audio files alongside the songs. The files can be uploaded onto PC, but will be copy protected to prevent recording to other CDs or file-swapping.
