DivXNetworks has announced the release of the latest version of its DivX suite of video compression technologies that allows internet users to shrink video files on their PC so they can be easily played on a range of consumer electronics devices.

Users of DivX 5.03 will now be able to select from one of four encoding profiles so that optimal playback can be achieved on DVD players, portable video players, set-top boxes, PDAs and other equipment.
