On the eve of its release of the service in Europe, Microsoft has announced that more than 350,000 gamers worldwide have signed up for its Xbox Live video gaming package since its launch.

The E45 (USD49) subscription kit has so far been released in the US, Canada and Japan. The Xbox Ethernet adapter and hard drive facility have ensured the necessary internet connectivity and storage space for online gaming. An online facility for the hit game 'Mech Assault' that was recently made available registered 172,000 downloads for the new content in its first week.
