The 'World's Smallest Film Festival' celebrated its inaugural showcase event on Tuesday at the annual Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association wireless conference in New Orleans, according to a report by Reuters.

BigDigit, the company that sponsored the event, said the showcase was inspired by the advances in mobile communication technology which has meant high-end phones are now capable of receiving enough streaming video to display 'mini-movies' on their small screens.
