A study from Nottingham Trent University has set out to shatter the stereotypical image of the 'gaming geek' according to a report from the BBC.

The study dismisses the traditional pimple-faced adolescent boy locked away in a darkened bedroom and instead asserts that many of those playing online games, and there are 400,000 who currently play Sony's online game EverQuest, are just as likely to be a well-paid - and middle-aged - professional.

The university has based its research on the survey of thousands of gamers playing EverQuest. Among the most significant findings were that a quarter of those questioned said they played for more than 41 hours a week. 15...
