Computer icon of old and modern day technology developer Amstrad has signed what appears to be a lucrative deal with BSkyB to manufacture set-top boxes (STB) for the Sky Plus PVR service, together with a new Sky branded keyboard and remote control.

Amstrad already supplies Sky with its 'regular' set-top boxes. The Sky Plus service has been growing in popularity since its launch in September 2001, notching up 65,000 sales by December 2002.
