ATI RADEON 9000 PRO VIDEO CARD

ATI positions this new video card as a middle-of-the-road offering at a reasonable cost. Its $200 price tag may strike some readers as high for a mainstream card but bear in mind that high-end gaming cards (like the Radeon 9700) can run you more than $500.

Although the 9000 Pro isn't the card gaming geeks dream of, it has enough power and features to do a great job on the latest 3D games. ATI claims this is the only card in its price range to support DirectX 8.1, a feature necessary for a high level of visual realism. The 9000 Pro also uses the Full-stream hardware accelerated filtering method that improves the performance and visual quality of the type of streaming video playback often encountered on the Internet.
