LLPs and JSCs now available to CAs in Quebec

The Quebec government recently approved the Quebec Ordre's Regulation respecting the practice of the chartered accountancy profession within a partnership or a joint-stock company. The new regulation allows CAs to form an association with lawyers, notaries, financial planners and insurance brokers, so that clients can benefit from one-stop access to a full range of services and from the pooling of diverse expertise.

"For the Office des professions and the Ordre, the primary concern in preparing this regulation was the protection of the public," said Gerard Caron, FCA, President and CEO of the Ordre des comptables agrees du Quebec.
