Curiosity got the better of a gaggle of marketers recently when the Direct Marketing Association's northern branch picked New Zealand Post head of direct media services David Skinner as its lunchtime speaker.An estimated 200 people packed the room as Skinner outlined a bunch of NZ Post's upcoming initiatives.

The organisation is known to have invested tens of millions of dollars in the programme designed to position direct media right up hard against mass media.Skinner admitted that NZ Post has had a bad reputation for over-promising and under-delivering and was understandably keen to "get it right" this time.
