Bluetooth baseband large system integration from Toshiba.

Toshiba Corporation has developed the Bluetooth baseband process large system integration (LSI) TC356510 equipped with Bluetooth upper layer software. It plans to ship samples in May 2002.
The LSI is equipped with the Bluetooth upper layer software, including a protocol stack and other programs that are essential for controlling the Bluetooth standard-based data communications by expanding the random access memory (RAM) capacity embedded in the LSI.
According to Toshiba, cost and time for developing the Bluetooth-related software, which so far has been the responsibility of appliance makers, could be lowered drastically due to the LSI. This kind of Bluetooth upper layer software is called a "profile", and it is Toshiba's first baseband-processing LSI...
