Sanyo develops fingerprint sensor module.

Sanyo Electronic Co Ltd and BMF Corp, a fingerprint sensor development company, have launched a jointly-developed fingerprint sensor module using a low-temperature, polysilicone thin-film transistor (TFT) substrate.

The product is a pressure-sensitive fingerprint sensor module that detects fingerprints when a finger is pressed onto a sensor panel, made from a low-temperature polysilicone TFT substrate. In terms of the module's structure, a pressure-sensitive sheet is overlapped on a glass substrate with a low-temperature polysilicone TFT circuit. This is the world's first low-temperature polysilicone TFT substrate where a fingerprint sensor is used, which allows for a compact module with the circuit incorporated inside of a panel.
