A&G Information Services 02-09-2000 ST.PETERSBURG, RUSSIA. The volume of agricultural production increased by 2.4% last year and was Rbl 624.8 billion. Despite severe drought, the grain crop was not bad - 54.7 million tons, or 14.2% more than in 1998. More than 31 million tons of wheat, 4.8 million tons of rye, was harvested.
