A&G Information Services 01-30-2001 INDUSTRIAL DECREASE WAS CONNECTED WITH RUBLE STRENGTHENING. ST.PETERSBURG, RUSSIA. In November the activity index of industrial production for the previous month was 0,3%, in December- already 0,8%. Starting from September 1998 the AIP was positive.
But, starting from 1999, AIP was constantly decreasing. In 1998 it reached 2,3% and in 1999 it was less than 1%. At the same time the $USD rate remained practically on the same level during the whole year; only by the end of 2000 it grew by 1-1,3%.
