PETERSBURG DIVISION OF GREENPEACE EXPERIMENTED WITH SEGREGATED GARBAGE DISPOSAL IN 2002-2003 ST.PETERSBURG, RUSSIA, MAR 27, 2004 (A&G News via COMTEX) -- Special containers were placed in Vasileostrovsky and Moscow regions to check the readiness of citizens to segregated their garbage prior to disposal.

As a result only 63% of all the garbage was sorted by type and only 15-25% of the citizens of the two regions took part in the project. On the other hand successful implementation of separate garbage disposal would have made possible the annual successful recycling of 75% of all the garbage instead of the present 30%.
