A&G Information Services 07-04-2004 "GAZPROM" IS PLANNING TO INVEST $1 BILLION IN UZBEKISTAN. Right after "LUKOIL ST.PETERSBURG, RUSSIA, JUN 26, 2004 (A&G News via COMTEX) -- "Gazprom" is planning to invest over $1 billion in the economy of Uzbekistan. Such was the announcement made by Vladimir Putin in Tashkent after negotiations with his Uzbek colleague.
From his side the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov emphasized that the total level of Russian investments into the oil and gas sector of the country would increase up to $2.5 billion.
