A&G Information Services 05-17-2005 RESTAURANTS BUY METAL DETECTORS ST.PETERSBURG, RUSSIA, May 17, 2005 (A&G News via COMTEX) -- Moscow authorities are going to secure customers of Moscow restaurants and cafes. The Mayor of Moscow, Yuri Luzhkov obliged all the owners to equip all newly open large restaurants and cafes with safety systems: arched metal detectors and guard posts, protected by bulletproof glass.
Owners of restaurants were shocked, but sellers of special equipment are expecting considerable growth in sales. Now there are about 3.200 restaurants and cafes in Moscow. Every year their number increases by 180-200 establishments. The joint turnover of Moscow catering establishments amounts to $2, 5 - 3 billion per year.
