A&G Information Services 02-10-2006 PROBABLY, "GAZPROM" WILL BUILD NEW NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS ST.PETERSBURG, RUSSIA, Feb 10, 2006 (A&G News via COMTEX) -- A week ago the director of Rosatom, Sergey Kirienko, said that in the next 25 years Russia would need 40 new nuclear plants. According to specialists it will cost about $60 billion.
Officials at the president's administration consider that "Gazprom" could allot money for a new nuclear program; it could build new NPP and own them. The only problem is that, according to the law, all NPP must belong to the state. Some officials consider that the law should be changed in order that "Gazprom" could get its share in plants, which it will build. The matter in point is not privatization of existing NPP but only...
